Infinite Craft Animals Recipes — Every Creature Chain Explained
The animal branch is where Infinite Craft opens up. Before you have Animal, your options are limited to whatever comes from Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind. Once Animal exists in your library, every creature in the game becomes reachable — pets, wildlife, dinosaurs, dragons, and the mythological tier that hangs off them.
This page collects the creature chains that matter most. It is not a list of every animal the game can produce — there are too many for that. It is a map of the recipes that unlock new branches, plus the specific creatures most players search for. Start with how to make Life in Infinite Craft if you have not done that yet — nothing below works without it.
🌱 The prerequisite — two working paths to Animal
Before any creature exists, you need the base element Animal. Every recipe on this page traces back to it. There are two accepted routes — the engine treats both as valid, so use whichever ingredient is already on your canvas.
The route most guides show. It works reliably in a fresh save and does not depend on context. This is the one to try first if you are starting from scratch.
Some players report this working when Path A gives something unexpected. Land comes from Earth + Continent, so it takes one extra step, but the result is the same.
🐾 Common animals — build these six first
These six cover almost every early recipe in Infinite Craft that touches creatures. They are also the required starting points for the wild-animal branch and the fantasy tier below. Fish in particular is the most-used ingredient in the whole animal category — it appears in food recipes, mythology recipes, and multiple character unlocks.
The single most useful creature in the game. Fish combines with Fire to make Cooked Fish, with Bones to make Fossil, and with Anime to make Pokémon. Several anime character recipes need it as an input.
Opens the flight branch — Feather, Wing, Nest, and eventually Airplane. It also combines with Fire to make Phoenix, which is the entry point to the entire mythological creature tree.
Dog is the fastest domestic animal to reach. Wolf comes from Animal + Moon. From Dog, you can reach Puppy, Pet, and the whole domestic branch including Cat — which is the shortcut rather than the other way around.
Unusual recipe, but it works in current versions. Cat combines with Music to make Keyboard Cat, and with Book to open the literacy branch that leads to Library and Knowledge.
The gateway to the wild-animal branch. Bear combines with Bamboo to make Panda, with Snow to make Polar Bear, and with Hunter to unlock the entire predator tree.
The shortest path to Dragon. Snake + Fire = Lizard, Lizard + Fire = Dragon. If your goal is the fantasy tier, build Snake first — it saves two steps compared to the Dinosaur route.
Once the six animals above are unlocked, your sidebar shows them grouped together at the top of your library. The screenshots below are from a save file where these were the first six creatures built — the layout is what you will see if you follow the same order.
Common set in the sidebar. Fish, Bird, Dog, Cat, Bear, Snake — the six starting points for every other creature in the game.
The Dragon chain in progress. Snake → Lizard → Dragon is the fastest way into the fantasy tier, and it reuses the Snake from the common set.
⚡ The evolution track — from Animal to Dragon
This is the chain most players never realize exists until they hit it by accident. Dinosaur is not a separate branch — it is a rung on a linear ladder that starts from the Animal element you already have. The shortest version of this track skips Dinosaur entirely and goes through Snake, which is why Snake sits in the common set above.
🌍 Wild and regional animals
Once the common set is done, the wild branch is a single step away for each creature below. None of these are strictly required for anything, but they each combine with specific ingredients to open chains that do not exist otherwise — and several are inputs for mythology recipes further down this page.
🐲 Mythological creatures — the fantasy tier
This is where most players actually want to end up. Dragon, Phoenix, Unicorn, and Kraken are the four creatures that unlock the fantasy branch of the game, and each one has its own downstream chains — Dragon feeds into Dragon Ball, Phoenix feeds into Immortality, and Kraken feeds into the deep-sea mythology tree. All four trace back to a base animal from the sections above.
Two combinations from Snake. Dragon combines with Anime to reach Dragon Ball Z, which then unlocks the entire Goku branch of anime recipes. It also combines with Fire to make Fire Dragon and with Ice to make Frost Dragon.
Two-step chain, but Bird itself takes several steps to reach. Phoenix combines with Time to unlock Immortality, with Fire to make Firebird, and with Myth to open the whole legendary creature tier.
Horse itself comes from Animal + Farm. Unicorn combines with Magic to unlock the whole fairy-tale branch, and with Star to reach Celestial Unicorn. It is a required input for several princess-themed recipes.
Kraken does not use Fish directly — it combines two concepts instead. This makes it useful for players who already have Pirate from other recipes. Kraken feeds into the deep-sea mythology branch, including Cthulhu and Leviathan.
🧭 What animals unlock in other categories
The animal branch does not exist in isolation. Once the common set is unlocked, several other Infinite Craft recipe categories become accessible — each one requires at least one creature as an input. These are the six categories that benefit most.
Pokémon, Dragon Ball, and several anime characters require Fish, Bird, or Dragon as an input.
See character recipes →Phoenix, Dragon, Kraken, and Unicorn all trace back to a base animal on this page.
See mythology recipes →Sushi, Burger, and Steak all start from Fish or a livestock animal from the domestic branch.
See food recipes →Forest, Bamboo, and Grass are required inputs for several animal chains on this page.
See nature recipes →Alien requires Animal as an input. Without a creature unlocked, the space branch stays locked at Planet.
See space recipes →The Life branch is where all animals originate — full chain and every Life combination in one place.

The engine sometimes returns a nearby result depending on context. If Life + Earth gives something unexpected, try Life + Land instead — both are accepted, and one usually works when the other does not. Also double-check that the element you are combining is called Life, not Alive or Being.
No verified path skips Animal. Every creature in the game traces back to it. The shortest route is to make Life in Infinite Craft first, then combine with Earth to produce Animal.
Snake is the shortcut. Animal + Grass = Snake, then Snake + Fire = Lizard, then Lizard + Fire = Dragon. Three steps from Animal. The Dinosaur route works too but takes five steps and requires Time.
Fish is the most required. It appears in Pokémon, several One Piece recipes, and any anime recipe with a water theme. Bird is second — it is required for Phoenix and for most flying-themed character unlocks. Dragon is third — it gates the entire Dragon Ball branch.
