Infinite Craft Characters Recipes — Every Character Chain Explained
Characters are the deepest branch in Infinite Craft. Unlike animals or food, most character recipes sit behind two or three prerequisite chains at once — you need the base element, the theme it belongs to, and often a specific letter or concept to pull it together. That is why a character like Gojo takes over a hundred steps while Batman takes six.
This page collects the character chains that matter most, grouped by category. Each card shows the final combination, a rough difficulty rating, and what the character unlocks downstream. If you have not built Life in Infinite Craft or Anime in Infinite Craft yet, start there — almost every character on this page depends on one of them.
🗺️ Three routes into the character branch
Characters do not all come from the same starting point. Depending on what you already have, you will enter this branch through a different door — and the door you pick determines which characters are easiest to reach next. Life is universal; Human and Anime are optional shortcuts.
The universal entry point. Every humanoid character in the game traces back here. Build this first if you have not.
If you already built Anime, dozens of characters unlock at once — Naruto, Goku, Luffy, Pikachu, Sailor Moon.
Celebrity recipes use abstract concepts — Heartbreak, MVP, Richest — instead of franchise elements. Fastest if you already have Pop and Star.
Once you have built a few characters, they group together in the sidebar by franchise — all the Dragon Ball Z elements cluster, all the Jujutsu Kaisen elements cluster, and so on. The screenshots below show three different stages of a character-focused save file.

🎌 Anime characters
The largest character category in Infinite Craft. Every chain here starts from Anime, which you build from Japan and America, or through Manga. Once Anime exists, the entire Japanese pop-culture branch unlocks at once. Gojo is the longest and hardest of the group; Naruto and Luffy are the easiest entry points.
The entry point to the anime character branch. Ninja itself is a long chain — Samurai → Ronin → Ninja — but once you have it, Naruto unlocks Sasuke, Kakashi, and the whole Naruto universe. Naruto + Wind = Rasengan is worth trying immediately after.
Dragon Ball Z comes from Anime + Destruction, or through the alternative route Cyborg + Dragon. Goku then combines with Cyborg to make Super Saiyan Goku, and with Shenron to make Kamehameha. One of the most-used character elements for further combinations.
One Piece comes from Anime + Pirate. Monkey comes from the Tarzan chain — Book + Jungle = Tarzan, then Tarzan + Jungle = Monkey. Luffy + Monkey = Monkey D. Luffy, and Straw Hat Luffy + Pirate = Monkey King.

Pokemon comes from Fish + Anime — a two-step combination once both are in your library. Pikachu combines with Sushi to make Pikasushi, and with Water to make Squirtle. One of the fastest anime characters to reach.
The shortest anime character recipe in the game. If Anime is already in your library, Sailor Moon is literally one combination away. Uses the same Anime element that Naruto, Goku, and Luffy need.
One Punch Man itself requires multiple anime-adjacent ingredients. Saitama is worth building because it combines with Planet to make One Punch, which opens a small but unusual branch of joke recipes.
Demon Slayer comes from combining Anime with a demon-themed element — Hell, Devil, or Dragon all work. Tanjiro combines with Water to make Water Breathing, and with Fire to make Sun Breathing.
🔗 Chain spotlight — Iron Man, two working routes
Most character recipes have a single chain. Iron Man is unusual — it has two independent working routes, and the one you should use depends entirely on what is already in your library. If you have Surfboard from other recipes, the Rust path is shorter. If you have Iron from a mining chain, that path skips an entire step.
🦸 Superheroes
Superhero chains are shorter than anime chains but less forgiving — most of them depend on a specific ingredient that has no obvious alternative. Batman is the easiest entry point at six combinations. Spider-Man is medium difficulty but opens the entire Marvel branch, including Venom and Carnage.
The shortest superhero recipe in the game. Bat itself comes from Black + Vampire, or through the Cave + Rat chain. Batman + Wisdom = Alfred, Batman + Penguin = Joker, and Batman + Superman = Justice League.
Venom comes from Destruction + Spider-Man in a circular chain that most players discover in the wrong order. Universe comes from Universe + Universe, or from Big Bang + Universe. Spider-Man combines with Venom to make Carnage.
Two working routes. The Iron path is shorter if you already have Iron from mining. The Rust path works if you already have Surfboard. Iron Man + Thor = Avengers, and Avengers + Adam = Captain America.
Lightning comes from Fire + Cloud, which is a two-step chain from Steam. Thor + Iron Man = Avengers. The fastest way to reach the Avengers branch if you already have Spider-Man.
Hulk has an unusually long chain for a relatively simple character. The full recipe runs through Clay, Brick, Wall, and House before reaching Hulk. Opens the gamma-radiation branch and pairs with Thor for a different Avengers route.
Requires both Avengers (from Thor + Iron Man) and Adam (from Venus + Mud). Captain America + Shield = American Hero, and it combines with Chris Evans for the celebrity version.
⭐ Celebrities
Celebrity recipes are unusual because they use abstract concepts instead of physical ingredients. Lionel Messi comes from Soccer + Dust. Taylor Swift comes from Heartbreak + American Princess. That makes them easier than expected once you have the right abstract elements — but the specific combinations are not obvious.
Soccer comes from Football + Football, and Dust is Earth + Wind. One of the simplest celebrity recipes in the game at eight steps. Messi combines with World Cup to make GOAT, which is a fun First Discovery target.
Rapper comes from Human + DJ, and Church comes from House + Angel. Kanye West combines with Church again to make Sunday Service, and with Fire to make Yeezy. One of the more useful celebrity elements for further combinations.
Heartbreak comes from Love + Pain, and American Princess is America + Princess. Taylor Swift combines with Concert to make Eras Tour, and with Album to make Fearless. A two-step recipe once you have Heartbreak.
MVP comes from Basketball + Award, and Superstar comes from Celebrity + Star. LeBron James combines with Lakers to make King James, and with Heat to make Miami LeBron. Required for the NBA character branch.
Celebrity comes from Pop + Star, and Kung Fu comes from Goku + Chinese. Bruce Lee combines with Dragon to make Enter the Dragon, and with Nunchucks to make Game of Death. A required ingredient for several martial arts recipes.
One of the strangest celebrity combinations in the game — Terminator plus a literal Egg. Terminator comes from Robot + Assassin. Arnold combines with Governor to make Governator, which unlocks a small political meme branch.
🎮 Game characters
Game characters overlap with anime and superheroes but have their own distinct chains. Pokemon sits at the intersection of fish and anime. Mario and Sonic come from completely different paths. This is the most mixed category on the page.
Screen comes from Computer + Glass, and Donkey Kong comes from Monkey + King Kong. Mario + Luigi = Mario Bros, and Mario + Yoshi = Mario Kart. The gateway to the entire Nintendo branch.
Hedgehog comes from Animal + Spikes, and Speed comes from Car + Fast. Sonic combines with Ring to make Sonic the Hedgehog, and with Blue to make Blue Sonic. Required for the Sega character branch.
Longsword comes from Sword + Sword, and Sword comes from Blade + Blade. Link + Zelda = Hyrule Warriors, and Link + Triforce = Legend of Zelda. Required for the entire Zelda character set.
Not a character exactly, but Minecraft is the required gateway element for Steve, Creeper, and the whole block-building branch. Sandbox comes from Software + Earth, and Brick comes from Clay + Clay. Two-step chain once you have Software.

🎩 Classic cartoons
Cartoon characters sit somewhere between celebrities and game characters. Most of them use the Cartoon element, which comes from Car + Drawing. Once Cartoon exists, Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, and the whole Disney-adjacent branch become reachable.
Cartoon comes from Car + Drawing. Mickey Mouse + Mouse = Disney, and Disney + Water = Moana. The gateway to the entire Disney character branch including Donald Duck, Goofy, and the Princess line.
Hare comes from Animal + Fast. Bugs Bunny combines with Carrot to make Looney Tunes, and with Duck to make Daffy Duck. Uses the same Cartoon branch as Mickey Mouse.
Simpson comes from Family + Anime. Homer is the second step. Homer + Donut = Homer Simpson, and Simpson + Venus = Marge. One of the few cartoon characters with a complete family tree.
Comic comes from Book + Drawing. Snoopy + Woodstock = Peanuts Gang, and Snoopy + Red Baron = Flying Ace. A short recipe once you have Dog and Comic.
Duck comes from Dandelion Patch + Lake. Donald Duck is the next combination once you have Disney. Duck + Water = Duckling, which opens the entire duckling branch.
🧭 What characters unlock in other categories
Character recipes do not exist in isolation. Once a few characters are in your library, several other Infinite Craft recipe categories become accessible — and vice versa. These are the six categories that share the most ingredients with characters.
Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, and several anime characters require animal elements as inputs. Fish and Bird are the most common.

Start with Batman. It is the shortest superhero chain at six steps and does not require Anime or Human. Once Batman is in your library, you have a template for how character recipes work — then move to Anime for the bigger branch.
Gojo is built from letters — GO + OJ — not from concepts. That means building Oxygen, GO, and OJ separately before the final combination. Most character recipes use already-available elements; Gojo uses a letter puzzle that runs over 100 steps.
Sailor Moon is the fastest if you already have Anime — it is one combination away. Batman is the fastest from a fresh save, at six steps. If neither Anime nor Batman ingredients exist yet, make Life in Infinite Craft first.
