Infinite Craft Nature Recipes — Forest, Mountain, Ocean & Every Landscape
Nature is the branch you build without realizing you are building it. Every recipe on this page comes from combinations you have already made in the first ten minutes of play — Water + Earth = Plant, Fire + Fire = Volcano, Earth + Wind = Dust. There is no hidden prerequisite chain, no letter puzzle, no threshold. The landscape is just there, waiting for you to notice what you can do with it.
That makes nature recipes the easiest category in the game — and the most overlooked. Most players skip straight to Life in Infinite Craft without realizing that the elements they built along the way are themselves usable. Forest, Mountain, Ocean, River, Desert, and Volcano all exist as named elements in your library, and each one opens a different downstream branch.
🌱 The foundation — how every landscape starts
Every element on this page traces back to a small set of chains that all begin with the four starting elements. None of them requires Human in Infinite Craft or any advanced unlock. These are the first real recipes most players make, whether they realize it or not.
Once you have built the eight foundation elements above, your sidebar shows them grouped together at the top of the library. The screenshots below are from two different save files — one just starting the nature branch, one with the full landscape set unlocked.
Foundation set in the sidebar. These eight elements unlock every recipe on this page and several dozen more across other categories.
Full landscape set. Forest, Desert, River, Beach and Cave visible on the canvas after building from the same foundation.
🏔️ Landforms — mountains, deserts, islands
Landforms are the skeleton of the world. Most of them come from Earth + Earth = Mountain as a starting point, then branch outward from there. Island is the most important of the group — it unlocks continent recipes, country recipes, and eventually Japan in Infinite Craft.
The first landform most players build, often by accident. Mountain combines with Mountain to make Mountain Range, with Wind to make Avalanche, and with Lake to make Fjord. Required for every country recipe that involves terrain.
Two working routes, and the choice depends on which ingredient you already have. Island combines with Island to make Continent, which is the gateway to every country recipe in the game. This is the single most important landform on the page.
Requires the Dust → Sand chain first. Desert combines with Plant to make Cactus, with Fossil to make Oil, and with Rainforest to open the Sahara branch. The starting point for most oil and archaeology recipes.
Beach combines with Sand to make Sandcastle, with Steam to make Sauna, and with Land to make Island. A surprisingly important junction between water and land recipes.
One of the simplest recipes in the game — the only combination that uses Fire twice. Volcano combines with Lake to make Island, with Water to make Lava, and with Dust to make Ash. Required for Hawaii and every volcanic landscape.
An unusual recipe that mixes water and land. Fjord combines with Mountain to make Norway, with Continent to make Europe, and with Water to open the Scandinavian landscape branch. Short but often missed.
🏔️ Quick reference — landform combinations
Every landform recipe in one table, for when you are mid-game and need the exact combination without reading the cards above.
| Element | Recipe | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Mountain | Earth + Earth | Mountain Range, Avalanche, Fjord |
| Island | Ocean + Earth | Continent, every country recipe |
| Desert | Sand + Sand | Cactus, Oil, Pyramid |
| Beach | Sand + Water | Sandcastle, Sauna, Island |
| Volcano | Fire + Fire | Island, Lava, Ash, Hawaii |
| Fjord | Lake + Mountain | Norway, Europe |
🌊 Water — oceans, rivers, waterfalls
The water branch is the deepest of the nature categories. It starts with Water + Water = Lake and expands into oceans, seas, rivers, and every water feature in the game. Ocean is the most important element here — it feeds into Island, Fish, and every aquatic recipe from the animal category.
The simplest water recipe in the game. Lake combines with Water to make Ocean, with Mountain to make Fjord, and with Volcano to make Island. Required for every other water element on this page.
The gateway to every aquatic recipe. Ocean combines with Earth to make Island, with Fish to make Whale, and with Steampunk to make Steampunk Pirate. Without Ocean, the entire marine branch stays locked.
An unusual recipe that requires the vegetation branch first. River combines with Tornado to make Flood, with Jungle to make Amazon, and with Crash to make Waterfall. Required for most landscape recipes with running water.
Requires building Crash first — Airship + Fire = Crash. Waterfall combines with River to make Iceberg, and with Mountain to make Niagara Falls. A short chain once you already have River.
A mid-tier water element. Sea combines with Lava to make Stone, with Incense to make Poseidon, and with Sunset to make Beach. Required for a handful of mythological sea recipes.
Wave comes from Water + Wind. Tsunami combines with Water to make Ocean, with Incense to make Poseidon, and with Uranus to make Neptune. The starting point for the ocean mythology branch.
🌲 Vegetation — forests, trees, flowers
Vegetation starts with Earth + Water = Plant — one of the first combinations every player makes. From there, it expands into trees, forests, jungles, flowers, and every plant-based element in the game. Forest and Flower are the two most useful mid-tier elements here; Forest feeds into wood and paper recipes, Flower feeds into the garden and bouquet branch.
The single most important vegetation element. Plant combines with Plant to make Tree, with Fire to make Ash, and with Wind to make Dandelion. Every other plant recipe on this page traces back to this combination.
Two working routes, both equally valid. Tree combines with Tree to make Forest, with Water to make River, and with Fire to make Ash. Required for almost every wood and paper recipe in the game.
The gateway to wood, paper, and jungle recipes. Forest combines with Forest to make Jungle, with Tree to make Wood, and with Animal to make Bear. Required for Money in Infinite Craft through the Wish chain.
Two routes to the same result. Flower combines with Flower to make Garden, with Garden to make Bouquet, and with Tree to make Cherry Blossom. Required for the garden and spring-themed branches.
Jungle combines with River to make Amazon, with Book to make Tarzan, and with Rainforest to make Chocolate. The gateway to the tropical landscape branch and several animal recipes.
Requires the full flower chain first — Flower + Flower = Garden, Flower + Garden = Bouquet. Cherry Blossom combines with Japan to open the sakura branch, and with Spring to make Blossom Tree.
🌧️ Sky and weather — clouds, storms, snow
Weather recipes are the most indirect of the nature categories — none of them use the natural elements directly. Instead, they run through Steam, which comes from Water + Fire, and then build outward through cloud, rain, and storm chains. Cloud and Storm are the two most useful here, and both are required for different downstream branches.
Steam comes from Water + Fire. Cloud combines with Water to make Rain, with Dust to make Cloudy, and with Fire to make Lightning. Required for every other weather element on this page.
Rain combines with Rain to make Rainbow, with Earth to make Plant, and with Wind to make Storm. The single most useful weather element — it feeds into both the water cycle and the sky branch.
Two working routes. Storm combines with Tea to make Tempest, with Water to make Rain, and with Electricity to make Lightning. Required for the entire storm branch including Tornado and Hurricane.
Tornado combines with River to make Flood, with Fire to make Fire Tornado, and with Water to make Waterspout. Required for the weather catastrophe branch.
Avalanche comes from Mountain + Wind. Snow combines with Wind to make Blizzard, with Human to make Snowman, and with Whale to make Beluga. Required for every winter-themed recipe.
Rainbow combines with Continent to make America, with Treasure to make Pot of Gold, and with Hope to make Color. Required for the Money in Infinite Craft branch through Leprechaun.
🪨 Underground — caves, stone, lava
Underground recipes cover everything below the surface. Stone comes from Lava + Water, and from there you get caves, ores, and every mining recipe in the game. Cave is the most important element here — it feeds into Batman, fossil records, and the entire prehistoric branch.
Lava combines with Water to make Stone, with Volcano to make Molten, and with Sea to make Island. The starting point for every underground recipe on this page.
A short two-step chain once you have Lava. Stone combines with Stone to make Boulder, with Bear to make Cave, and with Wind to make Sand. Required for almost every construction and mining recipe.
Two working routes. Cave combines with Rat to make Bat, which unlocks Batman in Infinite Craft. It also combines with Prison to make Dungeon and with Fossil to make Archaeological Cave.
Glass comes from Sand + Fire. Crystal combines with Earth to make Diamond, with Water to make Crystal Ball, and with Magic to make Crystal Magic. Required for the treasure and mineral branch.
Two working routes. Obsidian combines with Sword to make Obsidian Sword, and with Blood to open the dark-mineral branch. Required for the Minecraft-themed recipes.
Fossil combines with Desert to make Oil, with Cave to make Archaeological Cave, and with Time to make Dinosaur. Required for the prehistoric branch.
🧭 What nature unlocks in other categories
Nature is not a separate branch — it is the foundation every other category builds on. Once the elements on this page are in your library, six other Infinite Craft recipe categories become accessible or easier to reach.
Forest, Grass, and Tree are required inputs for Bear, Snake, and every wild-animal recipe.
See animal recipes →Dust is the base ingredient for Planet, which opens the entire space branch. Without Dust, nothing above Earth is reachable.
See space recipes →Plant, Tree, and River are required inputs for Tea, Coffee, and most crop-based recipes.
See food recipes →Stone, Crystal, and Lava are required for Metal, Glass, and every early tech recipe.
See technology recipes →Volcano, Sea, and Tsunami are required for Poseidon, Hephaestus, and several mythological recipes.
See mythology recipes →Plant is one of the two ingredients for Life. The full Life chain and every Life combination in one place.

Start with Mountain (Earth + Earth), Lake (Water + Water), and Plant (Earth + Water). These three take seconds to build and unlock every other recipe on this page. Then add Tree (Plant + Plant) and Ocean (Lake + Lake) to complete the foundation.
The engine sometimes returns a nearby result depending on context. If Tree + Tree gives something unexpected, try Tree + Earth instead. Both are accepted by the engine, and one usually works when the other does not. For more combining troubleshooting, see the FAQ page.
No. Every element on this page is reachable from the four starting elements alone. Life in Infinite Craft does use Plant as an ingredient, but Plant is one of the first elements you build — you do not need Life first, you need Plant first.
Cherry Blossom has the longest chain on this page — Flower + Flower = Garden, Flower + Garden = Bouquet, Bouquet + Tree = Cherry Blossom. The Flower itself requires either Fairy or Dandelion first, which adds another two steps. The full chain runs about eight combinations from base.
